MEDITERRANEAN REVIVAL

The design solution for a residential revival and renovation for Michael and Emily Steiner and their family will reflect a home that includes elements of a historical Mediterranean revival home while also incorporating modern day elements of an open floor plan and a midcentury modern style. The client emphasizes the need for a connection between outdoor and indoor spaces within the home. Using the free flowing and calm moods of a jellyfish into the layout and elements of textiles and materials in the design fulfills the core of the concept. The concept will be demonstrated through the space’s flowing and continuous layout using an organic line within the interior architecture. Arches and arcades of columns of Mediterranean revival will impart a sense of safety and support within the home. Lots of natural lighting will induce a calming, bright and energetic atmosphere like the colors found on a jellyfish such a cool and dark hues of blues, aqua and shades of pink and salmon colors.
